For one to win, they not only need physical strength but also wit, speed, maneuverability, intelligence and perseverance. These two animals have been sighted and recorded fighting a number of times. In most cases the lion emerges as the winner. However, lions come out as winners but sustain wounds that are sometimes fatal. Here are facts and information about the two animals.

African Lion facts and information
- Scientific name is Panthera leo.
- Males are larger than females.
- Males normally have a maximum head and body length of 3 meters while females have a maximum of 1.75 meters.
- Males can weigh up to 250 kg while females weigh a maximum of 180 kg.
- Are categorized as ‘vulnerable’ as their population has been steadily declining.
- Poaching is the biggest threat to their survival.
- Social animals that live in groups of up to 30 members.
- They are the only members of the cat family that live in groups.
- A pride of lions may consist of up to three males, more than a dozen females and several cubs.
- All females in a pride are normally related.
- Once male cubs reach maturity (about 2 years), they leave the pride to go take over other prides. When taking over a pride, a male lion would typically kill the male lions and all the cabs in that pride.
- Males normally dominate a pride for a maximum of three years before being ‘overthrown’ by younger and stronger lions that have been chased from their birth prides.
- Territorial animals that fiercely fight to defend their territories.
- Mark their territories by leaving a strong urine scent and through strong roars.
- A pride’s territory may be as large as 150 square kilometers but normally smaller.
- Females do the hunting most of the time.
- Males take the role of protecting the territory and guarding young ones.
- Females hunt in groups as opposed to solo hunts.
- Once a hunting mission is successful, male ones eat first followed by females and then young ones come last in that pecking order.
- Carnivorous animals that feed on wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, crocodiles, hares, hogs, hippos, rhinos, young elephants, mice and other wild animals.
- Sometimes snatch food from other hunters such as Hyenas and wild dogs.
- Originally roamed the forests of Africa, Asia and Europe but are now majorly found in the African grassland and woodland savanna.
- Lifespan in the wild is up to 14 years.
- Can be heard roaring from a distance of 8 kilometers away.
- Sleep for up to 20 hours each day.
- A female African lion can give birth to a maximum of 4 cubs in each reproduction cycle.
- In most cases, several females in a pride give birth around the same time. The cubs are subsequently raised communally.
- Gestation period is about 110 days.
Nile crocodile Facts and Information
- Scientific name is Crocodylus niloticus.
- Second largest of the three species of crocodiles found in Africa.
- Average length is 5 meters (16 feet).
- Maximum length is 6 meters (20 feet).
- Average weight is 230 kg (500 pounds).
- Maximum weight is 750 kg (1650 pounds.)
- Known to attack and eat any living being including humans. It is estimated that up to 200 people are killed by Nile crocodiles annually.
- Mostly feed on fish and animals that frequent water bodies including zebras, birds, hippos, porcupines, gazelles etc.
- Are endemic to and mostly found in the Nile river basin, Sub-Saharan Africa and the sub-continent of Madagascar. Mostly live in freshwater bodies and mangrove swamps.
- Are not endangered species.
- Can eat up to half its weight at time.
- Both males and females take care of their young ones. They both guard and take care of eggs until hutching.
- Biggest threat to survival is hunting and habitat loss.
- Has 68 teeth.
- Even though it has many teeth, it cannot chew after a bite. Normally bites huge chunks of meat before swallowing in full.
- Eyes, ears and nostrils are located at the top of the head and therefore they can manage to submerge almost their entire bodies and move undetected.
- Current population is less than half a million but more than a quarter a million.
- Sex of the hatchlings is dependent on the average temperature at certain times during egg incubation.
- Incubation period is between 80 and 90 days.
- Females can lay up to 60 eggs in one season.
- For incubation, eggs are normally hidden near water bodies and stay heavily guarded by mature male and female crocodiles.

The duel between the African Lion vs Nile Crocodile
A battle between these two animals may take dozens of minutes or even hours as both of them are strong fighters and never give up easily. The African lion, commonly referred to as the king of the jungle is an agile animal with strong jaws and canines that can tear apart the crocodile.
The crocodile on the other hand has powerful jaws with a grip that can instantly break strong bones. Both animals are capable of killing each other even though none of them is venomous. Both rely on their physical strength to win the war. It is said that a Nile crocodile has a jaw grip that is equivalent to more than one ton of weight applied per square inch.
Sometimes the lion has an upper hand because it is a flexible animal that can jump several feet into the air. The crocodile on the other hand is a rigid animal that cannot jump as high as an African lion. When the two animals are fighting, lions mostly pounce on the crocodile’s neck before strangling it to death.
The lion can also turn out to be a great meal for the crocodile if it is not careful. This is because if the crocodile manages to grip the lion, it will not let go until the lion is dead. In most cases crocodiles waylay lions at water points and attack lions that have come to quench their thirst. Crocodiles normally hide their body under water and swim steadily not to alert the lion. They then attack when the lion least expects and within a few seconds the lion is trapped between the strong jaws of the crocodiles with the crocodile’s canine teeth deep inside the lion’s flesh.
Though rare, sometimes lions jump into water to catch crocodiles. Most times African lions hide in bushes near water points waiting for crocodiles to come out of the water for basking. The lion is so good at camouflaging with the surrounding that crocodiles don’t normally discover they are being trapped until it is too late to run away and hide.
The muscle in a crocodile’s tail and its course and tough hide is also sometimes used as a weapon to defend itself. The only way a lion can kill a crocodile is if it ambushes it without notice. The opposite is also true as there is no way a crocodile can kill a lion unless it ensnares it.
To increase success rate, lions normally target smaller crocodiles while avoiding larger ones. A large crocodile is not easy to kill even if it is attacked by several large lions. On the other hand, crocodiles mostly rely on their ability to stay under water for so long without having to breathe. A hunting crocodile will clasp a lion and drag it under water where it stays for several minutes waiting for the lion to drown.
These two animals have equal chances of winning. The winner is determined by the location of the fight and the first one to attack.
In water-Crocdile wins 8 times out of 10 times. In land-Lion wins 6 times out of 10 times.
There is a group of lions in Burundi that prey exclusively on large crocodiles! In fact they have cut the croc population down 40%
Lion wins because of its big nails and bite force
The ludicrous ‘Animal Face-off’ imaginary simulation vid – is included as a lame joke – right?
There are real African wildlife encounter vids that show pride boss male lions regularly intimidating crocs..
& even quite remarkable vids of lions shrugging off croc attacks while swimming.
Obviously both creatures have the capability to harm each other, & to disrespect the weaponry of the other
carelessly could be fatal for either protagonist.
I think its fair to state that the comfort zone for each beast is when each is in their natural element, but
the reflexively powerful strike from a lion’s sharp clawed paw, follwed by a crushing bite with deeply penetrating
canine teeth – certainly capable of punching into the crocs brain case – is for sure – in a different league from a panicked antelope’s attempt to flee, & the video evidence confirms that crocs respect this.
The amazing spectacle of a large male lion facing down a huge croc at rivers edge, literally roaring straight
down the crocs gaping maw, quite fearlessly, & forcing the croc to back down – is far more real than the silly ‘Animal Face-off scenario.. obviously the croc feels the aggression in the sonic force of that roar – as really intimidating..
Hassling most every other potential prey animal – or rival animal – they come across – is lion SOP..
WHAT COULD BEAT A MALE LION TO YOU JAMES? That is, a mammalian land predator. I can see that you are quite biased towards a lion. I have no doubts that a lion could defeat a nile crocodile, but you’re ludicrous claims about lions roaring down the croc’s maw is…simply wrong. I’ve seen documentaries where lions have not crossed rivers because crocodiles are prowling the waters. Lions almost never tangle with gigantic crocodiles like indicated in this thread. The crocodile in this thread weighs 900-1000 kg.
The croc posesses body armor that the lions pathetic weak bite force nor its claws an penetrate. If the lion tries to flip the croc over, better think again, the largest crocodiles nile and saltwater ones weigh up to 1 ton while the lion on largest weighs 300 kg, the croc is more than 3 times as heavy as the largest lion, so ho will a lion flip one even on land. It is also shown that the croc has a low centre of gravity meaning it will be so low and heavy to the gorund that a puny lion will never be able to flip one. on the bite force side, the crocs max bite is 3700 psi or 1850 kg of bite, more than strong enough to snap a lion in half, so there is no way a lion is winning. There you have the real king of the beasts, the croc
Unbiased,
just check out Lion Vs Croc on youtube..
Such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbm-P7jaa_c @ 1 minute in..
Then admit you are wrong..
In fact, YOU – try & post-link a video which backs your claims.. L.o.l…
Are you aware of how small the crocodile is? I’d call that thing more fearless than the lion for taking on the lion, as that crocodile was outweighed in that scenario. However, here is a different story. The crocodile here MASSIVELY outweighs the lion, and no crocodile with that weight advantage would surrender.
I didn’t measure the croc..
& nor did you, but the boss lion backed him down, anyhow..
You couldn’t/wouldn’t.. do it. eh, Underling..
The croc learns early that he durst not challenge the pride boss “King of Beasts” either..
Since he knows that he’ll never live long enough to breed – if he does anything so rash..
Fact.
Crocs also understand , fear, & respect..
.. the “infrasound” power of the mighty lion’s roar..
Yeah, that whole video was B.S. A nile croc could pulverize a lion in a matter of seconds.
Aka,
= ‘also known as’ – the ignoramus..
Find & post a video of that actually happening..
The croc felt the power of the lion’s roar,
right down his throat, knew what it meant,
& was intimidated by it..
Aka/T..
Wrong again..
It is not the video that is “stupid”..
Stupid is – espousing an opinion that
is clearly contradicted by the available evidence..
& videos surely do provide evidence, which clearly shows the reality..
Crocs which share habitat with the dominant predator in Africa
– lions – will only live long enough to grow to maturity,
if they demonstrate the proper respect & caution towards lions..
Once mature, crocs well know lions are violently aggressive creatures
which are not to be trifled with, since lions are both well armed &
by nature, boldly disposed to express their powers – in an instant..
go dream somewhere else cancer w
Croc wins, bite force of corc is more, weight of corc is also more, has more tougher armored scaly skin and also can swim in the water better, lion is garbage,it is not the king of the beasts,it cannot even defeat a croc.Take that pussy cat, lions were my favourite, but sorry kitty, had to go with the strongest and largest reptiles, the crocs against ya.If you say lion stronger than croc, then you are out of your mind, the croc clearly has more weight, how is the lion gonna tip over an animal more than 3 times its own weight dum dums, the croc also posesses armor more than strong enough to evade against the puny weak bite of the lion and same for the claws, and it clearly can snap a lion in half with its OWN bite.
Ignorance: 100
Facts: -100
First of all, there is no evidence to support that animals “respect” lions for their roars. That is absolute BS. A Nile Crocodile can weigh up to a tonne, measuring up to 5.45 meters long, and have a bite force nearing 5500 PSI. Lions rarely reach over 220kgs or anywhere close to 3 meters long. Most Crocodiles are rarely challenged by anything other than Hippos, Rhinos or Elephants. Both can bring down a large, 1.2 tonne bull buffalo, but it usually takes a whole PRIDE of 5-8 lions 30 Minutes to kill one, while a a single old and experienced crocodile can drown it in what- 15? Maybe less? And you want a link right?
Here: https://youtu.be/y_8SGsI2r6g
An alpha male lion would know not to mess with a large croc. In a one-on-one battle: a Nile Crocodile would eviscerate a male lion. Unless the lions were mobbing it: the Croc would murder a lion. Verdict: One-on-one: Croc: 70% Lion: 30%
Group Of Lions (4-6): 75% Lone Large Croc: 25%
So if a croc can kill a 1 tonne bull buffalo, it can kill a 200 kilo male lion.
Have you even seen how crocs act around lions? Lions will choose not to cross rivers because of crocodiles. Once again, a crocodile of this size would be just as willing to kill as the lion. This croc wouldn’t care if the lion roared at it; it would just rip it’s head off. This size of crocodile would kill anything it could catch. Including lions.
Unsupported by any facts,
as usual.. just look up the provided youtube link,
& there are vids of 1/2 grown lions swimming
across rivers & being grabbed by a croc, which promptly lets go when
it gets viciously clawed by such a powerful predator..
Do try & educate yourself, rather than Undertrolling..
The Nile Crocodile has a way stronger psi then a mere lion. If a lion is brave/ stupid enough to actually attack a crocodile, the claws wouldn’t even pierce its scales. Crocodilians have been evolving for millions of years. DO you think a lion could really beat a reptile, that outlived, and outclassed the dinosaurs?
Horeson,
Do try & give the troll act – a rest..
The Crocodile knows it is outmatched by the lion,
even if you don’t..
Those scaly creeps back down in confrontations,
because they know the facts, unlike you.
Crocs do not like being bitten or viciously struck,
kicked or clawed, any more than you do.
You would not like a pet housecat to do those things
to you – let alone a lion – THE dominant apex predator.
This crocodile is the size of GUSTAVE, who took a hit from a f***ing ROCKET LAUNCHER! How could a lion even hope to hurt a crocodile of this size? Also, no, lions are not “THE dominant apex predator”, as they are killed by many things. That would be killer whales. You are wrong James and have not proven anything to the contrary. You are simply a biased, preposterous fool. Do you understand the size difference here? Most likely not, considering you cannot count higher than 10, but try to understand. This crocodile is 5.5 TIMES the size of the lion. This is like you fighting a toddler with a knife. Oh, wait, you are a toddler so that example doesn’t work. It would be like me, in full body armor with a gun, fighting a toddler with a knife. Sorry James, but you are wrong once again.
1 YouTube link shows a lion roaring at a small crocodile, and the other shows a crocodile killing a lion in animal face off. Once again, a crocodile of this size is as large as the largest Nile crocodile ever recorded, Gustav. Gustav would be able to easily break a lions neck with one bite, considering the Nile crocodiles bite force is 3,700 PSI. It would be able with 1 bite cripple the lion, while the lion would have to claw and bite the crocodile many times to do any damage. Crocodiles backs are BULLETPROOF, and I’d like to see the lion flip a <2000 pound crocodile without getting bit, you moron.
James, now you are just bolstering your own credentials and making yourself sound like a ‘real man’. Why don’t you look up Gustave and see for yourself? Do some fucking research for once and actually look into things. I am getting so tired of you just denying, denying, and denying while I continue to prove you wrong, and you continue to deny it. A nile crocodile of this size would DESTROY a lion. I am so tired of your ridiculous posturing, self-aggrandizing bullshit, as well as you ignoring facts and the massive weight difference. James, you are so stupid and wrong it continues to amaze me, and I will continue to prove you wrong until you concede.
The Croc in your video is a smaller crocodile, fighting the largest male. And Average nile can take down a lioness in seconds and scare away two male lions in a few minutes And I Have PROOF… in the video the two males fight a croc over a dead buffalo and the crocodile scares the two lions away even though the nile is left with a lion claw in its head
http://www.lifedeathprizes.com/videos/animal-videos/croc-fighting-two-lions-over-a-buffalo
Guys, every croc in the waters are not fully grown! They are not all bullet proof, and one bite wont kill every animal! Theres so many YouTube videos showing lions, and other animals getting away from crocs in water! Also, theres a documentary of a Male lion going into deep waters late night with about 15 crocs surrounding to eat a dead hippo. I thought it was suicide but the lion fought a few of them off, and kept eating the hippo.
This was the statement at the very end of your video “Eventually the croc backed down for the lions to have their meal ” what does that implies…
Not pythons though
AKA/Tiny..
That croc’d bite your head off boy, if you tried to be as bold as that boss lion..
& any bear that tried it, would get dragged under & be croc-tucker too..
But that croc could feel the power of the lions mighty roar.. right down its guts..
..& trembled in fear.. before being forced to step off, – by the dominant predator…
AKA/Tiny-SoB..
Still the ‘stupid boy’ then, huh..
Crocs get ‘wrecked’ by aggressive lions,
just like you get wrecked here.. by the facts..
& for your imbecilic ‘opinion’ too, eh kid.. L.O.L…
AKA/Fantasist..
Like you do, huh kid? L.O.L…
See the actual/real wildlife video footage..
(Not BS mash-up stupidity, if you can tell the difference)..
That’s EVIDENCE…
& post some here – which clearly shows what you claim – happening..
You cant, can you kid.. & its simply that you haven’t/can’t disprove..
..any of the fact-supported data, which I have listed here, already..
Aka/T..
I want to suck your dick..
if a Tiger can bring down a bear alone then a pride could easily manage the same but 1 on 1 not so sure
Unbelievable, the troll,
thinks Animal Faeces, ah Animal Faceoff, is real!
& that crocs are bulletproof! Too funny..
Crocs that do grow big, do so by being wary of lions,
since being careless/bold around them is fatal, &
this is something they don’t forget, & so they remain.
When they’re small they’re wary. Also, no I do not think Animal Face Off is real nor do you know that large crocs are partially bullet proof. Look it up. Lions are wary of crocs when they’re small, as crocs kill small lions.
Also, why the hell do you treat lions as unkillable, perfect killing machines? They don’t kill many people per year, and many animals DESTROY lions 1 v 1. Yet, you don’t understand this. You seem to think that lions are the king of beasts, which is a joke. A pure, unadulterated joke. By the way, crocodiles have been around FAR longer than lions, before the dinosaurs even. This would hint that crocodiles are perfectly evolved killing machines, not your overgrown kitty cats.
Also, feces*
Unwiped,
I agree, you should change your ID to ‘Faeces’,
– it would be more a more accurate nomenclature.
Caesar would also approve.. as would ‘ King Richard the Lionheart’.
I was correcting your spelling moron. The rest of the post made no sense whatsoever, so I won’t bother refuting it like everything else.
Undone,
It is quite evident that your comprehension that is lacking.
It appears you are not much interested in learning, either.
You miss the point about evolutionary advancements.
Prior to humanity developing technology, big cats were boss.
Crocodiles have their niche, but it is circumscribed by their limitations.
It is quite evident that you have no evidence, and don’t care to have any. You have no proof whatsoever of ANYTHING you say, at all. Crocodiles have been around for millions of years, far longer than lions, proving how they are superior from an evolutionary standpoint. Oops, sorry, I just turned your ‘evidence’ around, because it was bullshit. Big cats have plenty of limitations, like how 1 v 1 many prey animals can own them you fool. Just stop man, you are making a fool of yourself.
Unaware,
rudely pig ignorant as you are,
I suggest you try to grasp the basic concepts of evolution..
Cats, like humans, are a recent development, with adaptations
which grant superior functional characteristics, which is why they
are to be found in most zones suitable to functional habitation…
Unlike crocodilians, which, even as an evolutionary exemplar of their type,
are necessarily self-limited to a mandatory niche existence.
& in the co-habitation zones of lions & crocs, lions are boss, period.
Crocodiles who fail to be circumspect around lions do not reach maturity,
& those who do, certainly recall why it is unwise to challenge the ‘King of Beasts’!
Or, suffer the consequences, just as all others do – when confronted by the primary predator,
esp’ when arrayed in his ‘Kingly’ pride boss/male coalition social configuration..
Observe some cogent data sets, such have been recorded, of a truly dominant lion pride,
the frankly awesome nature of this situation is undeniable, even for a willfully purblind ‘fool’..
Yet even when solitary, or in a pair unit, as was the case for ‘Barbary lions’ – historically, the ‘King’
was not to be trifled with, & also did not besmirch his rep’ by creeping around filthy garbage dumps…
Do a bit of dumpster-diving yourself, do you – Unwashed?
Yeah, that figures..
Would you look up Gustave, please? PLEASE? Nothing you say means anything because none of it has any evidence and all you do is repeat the same thing about dumpsters. Why are you so obsessed with dumpsters? You said I dumpster dive, but I think that might be you, based on your obsession with them. How about Deinosuchus? Those things would own any cat that has every existed. Do you know what Deinosuchus was? A fifty-foot long crocodile. Literally, a Gustave sized crocodile would have no problems killing a lion. In fact, Gustave actively hunts HIPPOS. http://www.factfiend.com/gustave-bullet-proof-crocodile-burundi/
Check out that link and see what I mean. This size of crocodile would have no quarrels or problems killing a lion. You wish to bring up extinct lions? I’ll bring up extinct crocodiles, which would own extinct and modern lions. The reason crocodiles have never evolved is because they are apex predators, and have no need to evolve.
Undumpster,
Of course crocs evolved, they had to, as they survived &
filled the ecological niche left by the larger, but extinct reptiles.
However, they are limited to that niche, whereas humans & cats,
being so functional with a later, more adaptable evolutionary lifestyle,
are far more successful/formidable… than those scaly old creepy-crawly crocs..
All you are doing is ad hominem attacks on crocodiles, but present no evidence on how they could not beat a lion. Crocodiles haven’t evolved very much because they haven’t needed to. They are apex predators.
No you moron, as hominem means changing the subject into personal attacks, or attacking the subject. Not against man. Why are you insulting my evidence when you have not put a shred of evidence yourself? But, I honestly don’t have time for this. You are so obviously a troll that it hurts. I will not be speaking to you again, as it is a waste of time.
cancer w that is cause the crocs muscles for opening the jaw is weak
I will not provide evidence until you do, James
Unfounded,
I suggest that you cease the troll act,
& do some reviews of proper scientific data,
your resort to emotive rants & low value “evidence”
simply to back your slanted opinion – does you no credit.
Fact is, lions are the dominant land animal predator,
other than for the advent of technology, by humans.
I recently saw a video, which I will try to find and link here, where a mega pride of 17 lions could not take down one female hippo, while a crocodile of this size (Gustave) actively hunts hippos. So, based on logic, you could say that a crocodile of this size is greater than 17 lions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=003lqobeivY
Unlogical,
Wasn’t ‘Gustave’ in fact, killed by a hippo…
That big old croc lived by bullying smaller crocs from their food.
You haven’t found a single video showing a prime lion being
the subject animal predated upon by a croc.
gustave is more than capable of ripping YOUR BELOVED LION TO SHREDS
James why don’t you compare your little yellow cats PSI and size to a crocodiles.
Dino,
What is your point?
That crocs fart more explosively? L.O.L…
Boss lions routinely dominate crocs,
& force them to slink back into the slime..
As if. The croc is far more powerful. It takes a while pride of lions to take down 1 buffalo or zebra, whereas the crocodile can do it solo. Even a 12 footer can do it. And a crocodile’s center of gravity is so low to the ground that it’s near impossible for a lion to flip it over. And the crocodile has bony armor under its skin, supporting what Undoomed was stating as a sound and factual statement that the crocodile hide is almost bulletproof, and can certainly withstand the teeth and claws of a lion.
lions hunt in groups . One single lion cannot do a lot . Crocs do not need help to hunt lurge preys , although sometimes they help each other
Croc of shit..
Look doc, nevermind your fantasies..
just check the vids.. lion dominates croc, its a natural fact..
Yes, even swiming in the river – when a croc tries an attack..
it fails.. as the videos show, the croc gets a brutal claw-raking,
& desevedly too, for its 1/2-arsed interception attempt..
CANCER W
https://www.youtube.com/watch?=y-8SGsl2r6g buffalo vs crocodile
Lions are more intelligent than crocs… Mammals are usually than reptiles
On land, a lion would win. While the crocodile could cripple it with it’s powerful bite, the lion would be too fast, strong, and agile for a croc to achieve this on land. The lion would wear it out on land and eventually land a killer blow to the skull of the crocodile, instantly killing it.
In water, the croc might win because it has the advantage of attacking the lion without the lion noticing. However, there are videos on Youtube of adolescent lions surviving croc attacks in water.
AP,
Check the vid of the two brother lions swimming across a deep river,
big croc intercepts the leading lion, & seeing this, bro lion following..
instantly dives under to thug the croc – who pisses off, quick smart..
Seems crocs gotta learn that being ‘lion hearted’ – aint just sayin’..
Yup, I have seen that video.
Ah…
Them good ol’days when we used to have friendly debates…
& then, lamely on cue..
the scams begin..
with fake ‘james w’
duly being trotted out..
How tedious..
Huh?
Did you check the dates?
Huh?
Did you check the dates?
Anyways, for this fight, lion wins on land, croc wins in water.
As a general rule, lions ignore crocodiles they do not considered them as potential preys. But there are exceptions. Water is crocodile domain and land the lion’s domain. The other side of the story there is the Zimbabwe’s Lake Kariba crocodile-killer lions. Adult crocodiles were killed by young male lions. Many videos shows a dominant male lion in shallow waters facing a group of crocodiles. Crocodiles have great respect for the king of the beasts.
Ross Wind,
Good post. I think it is fair to say that lions would defeat crocodiles in a fight on land while crocs hold the winning cards in water.
And do post something under the “African lion vs Siberian tiger” thread. I want to have a lion vs tiger debate with you 🙂
Wrong.. as usual.. apey..
Check the videos of lions
defeating crocodile attempts
to attack them while swimming,
& lions dominating crocs on the riverbanks..
James W,
Sigh….
Can you link ’em? AFAIK, lions usually best crocs on land and in shallow water, but crocodiles emerge victorious in DEEP water.
what is it with this argument a crocodile destroys lion on land and in water
weight lion 600 pounds croc 2000 pounds
a crocs tail alone has more muscle than lions entire body bite force lion 650 pounds croc 5000 pounds
and crocs skin is bulletproof
bottom line crocs would pulverize lions
crocodile would pulverize a lion on both land and water
Jake,
Yeah, that is questionable…
Sure, theoretically, a crocodile could “pulverize” a lion on land, but that is unlikely.
The crocodile has heavier pressure jaws, but the lions jaws are meant for slicing through the tough hide of animals like Cape buffalo. The crocodile can’t do that. They have to rip their prey’s limbs off. The only way a crocodile can do that to the lion is with a well timed ambush – and even than it is a tall order.
On land, the lion is faster and more agile – so even if the croc had T-Rex power jaws, it would never get a chance to implement the killer bite. The lion would out maneuver it and go for a killer blow to the croc’s skull – the video of a <130 kg tigress killing a 14 foot crocodile on Youtube proves this.
their is a site on a mugger crocodile killing a fully grown male Bengal tiger
Jake,
That tiger was a very small one – it was less than 140 kg. Also, if you read that article carefully, forest officials said that it was a very rare thing for a crocodile to kill a tiger. In India, Bengal tigers regularily prey on crocodiles – even big ones.
are you insane so your tellin me a 600 pound tiger can take on a 1000 pound mugger crocodile also its a rarity that tigers kill crocs also that croc was very small to
Yes my friend – even tigeresses have killed huge crocs before- you should do some research regarding this topic.
so what we are talking about the nile crocodile not mugger croc
And Jake,
Two more things about that article:
1) The fight took place in deep water – so naturally the croc had the advantage.
2) The croc ambushed the tiger.
And FYI, that 650 PSI, came from a juvenile lion. An adult’s bite force is closer to 1000 PSI.
But, for the reasons mentioned above, bite force won’t play a huger role.
Deep Water: Croc wins 8-9/10 times.
Shallow Water: Croc wins 5-6/10 times.
Land: Lion wins 8/10 times.
a croc is bigger stronger and heavier a fight with lion and croc is like a five year old vs mike Tyson the lion is the five years old and the croc is mike Tyson
Jake,
With all due respect, that is a poor analogy. Just like crocodiles, lions can and have dragged heavy buffalo carcasses for several miles. Despite being much lighter, lions are just as strong (if not stronger than) as crocodiles.
Mike Tyson, FYI, was more like a lion/tiger than a crocodile. He used to keep lions and tigers in his backyard.
Lions and tigers have been observed breaking the skulls and backs of buffalo with paw swipes. One well placed blow to a crocodile’s head could severely injure it.
a swipe to a crocs skull is more likely gonna piss it off also a lion and tiger breaking a buffalos back or head is almost unheard of as a lion pride killing an elephant also a crocs heads is fused into a solid hunk of bone so know a lion Ain´t severly injuring a croc any time soon
also I never meant mike Tyson was more like crocodile than lion I was just expressing how much of a mismatch this is a better match would be croc vs bear or shark
let just clear up something crocs are lightning fast go watch dangerous encounters with Brady Barr in one episode where he tests how fast a croc is the croc can swing its head around really fast in contrary to people who say crocs are slow yes they are slow when walking but they can swing their heads real fast
Jake,
You should really do some research about this topic. In 1857, Bern Bengt witnessed a Bengal tiger killing a 2000+ pound Indian gaur with a neck twist. Field researched Joubert witnessed a male lion killing a bull eland with one blow of its paw.
And lastly, a small tigress killed a 14 foot Mugger croc with a bite to the head – it is entirely predictable that a large male lion/tiger would be able to do that to a 20 foot croc.
And FYI: Elephant meat is eaten by both lions and tigers…
AP
FYI crocodiles also eat elephants
Crocodiles only go for calves. They will get stomped to death if they go for adults.
Field researcher Joubert saw a lion take down a 6 year old elephant. In Kaziranga national park, tigers have started killing adult rhinos. These are feats that even the largest crocodile could never accomplish.
are you crazy a 20 foot nile or slate would destroy both
In deep water? Sure. On land – no. On land, the crocodile would never get the chance to implement the killer bite on the lion/tiger – they are too fast and agile.
And FYI: The larger the crocodile gets, the less mobile/agile it is on land. In fact, tigers/lions prefer to kill huge crocs on land since huge crocs are slower.
In deep water? Maybe. On land? No.
The bigger the croc gets, the less agile it becomes.
it does not change the outcome their is nothing a lion or tiger can do to kill the croc other than stepping into the get mauled zone also a crocs skin can block bullets so what will a lion or tigers teeth or claws do to it
Actually Jake,
Where the fight takes place will affect the outcome. Crocodiles are the most dangerous in water – but they are fairly vulnerable on land.
Also, it is a misconception that crocodile skin is bulletproof. Yes, its true that a crocodile skin can take a lot of abuse – and they might even survive a shot from small pistol, but most large modern day guns can kill a croc with one hit.
See this link for more info: http://www.alligatorleather.net/is-alligator-leather-bullet-proof/
And FYI, tigers have been documented crunching down of fully grown tortoise shells – they can surely do the same to crocs.
Crocs are stronger swimmers than lions that be why they have the advantage
AP
their is a video in youtube were a medium sized crocodile almost killed an African buffalo but lions need a pride to do that.
and lastly their is news that a 15 foot kills an 8 year old male tiger also that was a mugger crocodile just imagine what a saltie and nile croc would do
Jake,
Lions are capable of taking down large prey solo – they just prefer to hunt in prides, thats it.
And I have three problems with that news of the croc killing the tiger:
1) Though it was an adult, the tiger was exceptionally small.
2) The croc ambushed the tiger – it was not a fair, face to face fight.
3) That same article clearly said that forest officials stated a crocodile killing a tiger was a rare sighting. In India, even the largest of crocodiles fall prey to tigers. In fact, tigers love eating crocodile meat – it is their prey of choice.
On the flip side, a small Bengal tigress named “Machli” (she passed away is 2016, unfortunately), killed a 14 foot Mugger crocodile, in a face to face fight on land in order to protect her cubs.
1 yes it was smaller than most Bengal tigers but it was atlas the same size or bigger than machili
2 machili attacked the same croc from behind so yeah also not a fair fight
3 the only tiger attack on crocodile I could find was machili so yes the forest officials were wrong no in India tigers and crocs rarely ever fight each other tigers don´t eat crocs were did you get that notion from the tigers prey of choice is deer not crocs
and were did you get the notion of the croc machli killed was 14 feet long its head was barely bigger than machli
” 1 yes it was smaller than most Bengal tigers but it was atlas the same size or bigger than machili”
True – but the fight took place in water, AND, more importantly, it was an ambush – so everything was in favor of the croc, making it an unfair fight.
“2 machili attacked the same croc from behind so yeah also not a fair fight”
Ah.. no. If you watch the video carefully, you will see that initially, both animals are face to face. The crocodile attempts to cripple Machli with it’s jaws, but she outmaneuvers him, and kills the croc with a bite to the head.
“3 the only tiger attack on crocodile I could find was machili so yes the forest officials were wrong no in India tigers and crocs rarely ever fight each other tigers don´t eat crocs were did you get that notion from the tigers prey of choice is deer not crocs”
The reason you don’t find videos of tiger fighting crocodiles is because it is hard to record those fights in the dense jungles of India – they certainly do happen, even if you have not seen them. And tigers do prefer deer – but crocs are on the menu to…
“and were did you get the notion of the croc machli killed was 14 feet long its head was barely bigger than machli”
The croc was 14 feet my friend.
See this link: https://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/702758/Machli-Tiger-famous-killing-crocodiles-save-offspring-dies
It states:
” It was in one of the park’s wetland areas where she was filmed killing a 14ft crocodile in one of the most spectacular wildlife battles ever recorded and earned her the title of Queen of Ranthambore.”
Jake,
Don’t get me wrong – crocs are faster than they are given credit for. However, as the saying goes, “cat like reflexes”. Cats have the best reflexes among all mammals. A crocodile could indeed kill a lion with a well timed ambush, but it is far more likely that the lion would dodge it.
I said it before and I´ll say it again a croc can swing and snap its jaws blindingly fast also ever heard of a crocs skin can block a caliber gun so there is not much a lion can do to hurt a croc also lion can´t get within killing distance without getting their head chopped off sure a lion can dodge the crocs snaps but their is almost nothing a lion can do to kill a crocodile
Crocodiles only go for calves. They will get stomped to death if they go for adults.
Field researcher Joubert saw a lion take down a 6 year old elephant. In Kaziranga national park, tigers have started killing adult rhinos. These are feats that even the largest crocodile could never accomplish.
stop discrediting crocs you even said yourself a 20 nile croc aka Gustave can kill a fully grown hippopotamus its almost unheard of for lions to do that without a pride whilst Gustave has done something that takes a big pride of lions to pull off. yes the male tiger was small but he was the same size or bigger than machli. so you are telling me a 600 pound cat can kill adult asian rhino who is smaller than the rhinos nile crocodiles co exist with but a 4000 pound croc can´t do the same that is the very definition of illogical and unscientific even lions mostly go for elephant calves so do tigers also if you think Gustave was bad enough search up krys the savannah king and you´ll see how massive the biggest crocs can get also their is eyewitnesses of a 29,5 foot long croc in the very same place where oolong was found
Jake,
Don’t worry – I am not discrediting crocs – just stating facts. I have heard of Gustave. AFAIK, those stories of him killing adult hippos were never verified. In fact, in Africa, Nile crocs will only attack hippo calves – it is well known that one bite from a hippo can kill a crocodile.
Believe it or not, a 600 pound male tiger can kill a rhino.
See this:
1) https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/lucknow/Rhinos-new-preys-for-Dudhwa-tigers/articleshow/18282354.cms
2) https://www.indileak.com/2017/03/tiger-kills-rhino-in-dudhwa-national-park/
Crocs, on the other hand, stay away from adult hippos, who are less formidable than rhinos.

Crocs, on the other hand, stay away from hippos, who are less dangerous than rhinos.
Also, the average weight of a crocodile is nowhere near 4000 pounds. Nile crocs and salties average a 1000 pounds, with large males going up to 2000. 4000 pounds is an exceptionally large specimen.
Since tigers hunt rhinos, and crocs avoid hippos, its fair to say that tigers are superior in this sense.
Its true that lions and tigers go for elephant calves – but they can also take down juveniles/subadults. Crocs would not be able to do that since they fear hippos.
And we are talking on average – so ~30 foot crocs don’t count. And like I mentioned earlier, the larger a croc gets, the less agile it becomes – that is a bad thing when you are fighting a big cat.

Sorry Jake, but your link was not working. Can you please post it again?
just go to youtube and type 1 ton buffalo vs massive crocodile
see crocs are stronger than you think the buffalo was on land and outweighed the croc yet the croc dragged into the water and it barely escaped with its life lion need a pride to do that shit so don´t make ludicrous claims like “lions can take down big prey but they prefer to do it in a pride” lions can´t even catch a gazelle and they can´t even bring down a zebra without help
Jake,
Look dude, if anything, your ideas are “ludicrous”.
Yes, crocs can and have dragged buffalo into water – I never denied that.
Lions can’t catch a gazelle? A lion’s top speed is 50 mph – gazelles max out at like 40 mph.
Lions can’t bring down a zebra alone????? LOLOLOLOLOL. There is literally a video on Youtube of a lioness bringing down a buffalo alone – start doing research man. You accuse me of discrediting crocs, when you make ridiculous claims of a lion not being able to bring down a zebra alone. Lions have been observed killing zebras with one paw swipe – so just stop with your “ludricrous” claims.
dude only the fastest lionesses reach 50 mph male lions barely reach 40 also given that gazelles have out ran a cheetah sometimes yes a lion is gonna have a very hard time catching a gazelle my case is closed also google states that gazelle top speed is 55 mph
also when I meant ludicrous claims I meant you act like 50 mph is a lions normal speed when its actually the fastest females that can pull such a feat also with the zebra thing then yes I was making ludicrous claims so sorry there also crocs have killed zebras without even using a lot of effort also when I meant discredit I was meant you think a crocs striking speed is as slow as its travel speed
a 1000 pound croc is still bigger than yo lion whose average weight is 400 pounds
the rhinos in asia are still smaller than the ones in Africa and the Indian rhino has one small horn crocs still hunt prey just as big if not bigger than the tiger
lions kill juveniles so do crocs their is a footage in animal fight club where a croc attacked a herd of elephant
and went after a juvenile the juvenile was almost dragged into the water but mom came and forced the croc to let go
what does agility have to do in a fight the lion can´t get anywhere close to killing the croc without getting mauled
a lion aint getting through a crocs armor
“a 1000 pound croc is still bigger than yo lion whose average weight is 400 pounds”
Sorry, that does not mean anything. Lions have taken down large prey solo, so this argument holds no water.
“the rhinos in asia are still smaller than the ones in Africa and the Indian rhino has one small horn crocs still hunt prey just as big if not bigger than the tiger”
So? It is still an impressive feat. The rhinos in Asia might be smaller than the ones in Africa, but they outweigh tigers like eight times – and yet tigers can bring them down. And Asian rhinos are still bigger than African hippos, who harass crocs all the time.
“lions kill juveniles so do crocs their is a footage in animal fight club where a croc attacked a herd of elephant
and went after a juvenile the juvenile was almost dragged into the water but mom came and forced the croc to let go”
No, that elephant was not a juvenile – it was a calf. Even a hyena can bring down an elephant calf, so that feat is not as impressive as you think is.
the asian rhinos are not bigger than hippo I searched at google and I found out an Indian rhino is 4000 pounds with is impressive but not as heavy as the hippo who weighs 5000 pounds also hippos don´t harass crocs all the time in the Gustave documentary Gustave was near a pod of hippos but they did not attack him they just float there and even the narrator said the hippos fear him crocs have also taken down big prey solo
also hippos kill more people than rhinos and even rhinos run away from the watering hole cause their are hippos there
Just cause hippos kill more people, does not mean that they can beat rhinos in a fight. Rhinos run away because they don’t want to fight. BUT, if the two go head to head, the rhino will KO the hippo majority of the time.
dude this is a lion vs croc debate not hippo or rhino
see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fog6jeeAZk
and don´t give me the “the rhino did not want to fight” or “the rhino has a broken horn”
who cares the hippo bullies the rhino and I know the rhino does the same the hippo vs rhino fight can go either way but this is lion vs crocodile
Lol dude, you are the one you started this “hippo vs rhino” debate.
And, “don’t give me the”, “hippo is a bully” and “hippo kills more people” crap.
Sadly Jake, you don’t seem to comprehend what you were watching. The rhino did not give a crap about the hippo. If the rhino wanted to, it would have gored that hippo to death.
sure I started it but atlas I said this is a lion vs croc debate not rhino vs hippo
also hippos are bullies whilst rhinos are not don´t get me wrong I like rhinos but I don´t like hippos but hippos are more aggressive and meaner than rhinos seriously the rhino in my link even had a broken horn so how is it gonna gore the hippo also if I can´t comprehend what I showed you why would I even bother to show you it
“what does agility have to do in a fight the lion can´t get anywhere close to killing the croc without getting mauled”
Wrong – agility and stamina are why the lion/tiger will win this fight. The lion/tiger’s immense speed and reflexes will prevent the croc from implementing the killer bite. And yes, once the lion/tiger sits on top of the croc, and sinks its 3-4 inch canines through the crocs head, it is goodnight vienna for the croc.

false a lion/tiger can barely run full speed for a few seconds. a croc is one of the fastest animals in terms of striking speed not travel speed so yes a croc can implement the killing bite. how will the lion or tiger get on the crocs back when the croc is constantly moving its jaws at the lion/tigers direction. In a youtube video called lions vs crocodile a pride of lions attacked a small croc on land and the croc managed to stop every single one of the prides attempt to kill it.

In a youtube video called lions vs crocodile a pride of lions attacked a small croc on land and the croc managed to stop every single one of the prides attempt to kill it.”
Sadly Jake, you don’t seem to do any research. No animal – besides maybe wild dogs, can run full speed for extended periods of time. Even wolves and hyenas can’t run full speed for miles. What you fail to understand is that lions and tigers regularily patrol their territory by trotting slowly – they can do that for 100+ miles.
A croc’s striking speed ~30 MPH. Lions and tigers can run ~40 – 50 mph. So yes, they can dodge a croc’s strike. It is only via ambush that crocs can implement the killer bite on a lion/tiger. On land, in a face to face fight, the crocs chances of doing so are fairly slim.
The croc does not have a very mobile neck – they can’t twist their head 360 degrees – this will allow the lion/tiger to pin the croc, and go for a fatal skull bite.
And as far as that Youtube vid, predators avoid injury, so they won’t indulge in unnecessary conflict.
dude i do my research the fastest lionesses reach 50 mph males can barely run at 35 mph
also no tigers can run 50 mph that is ludicrous . google sites say a tigers speed is at maximum 40 mph still fast don´t get me wrong
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00379y4
click the link
the link says the croc is so fast when it strikes they need a tornado camera that records 1,000 frames per second or else the croc would be moving so fast you can´t see it clearly
ap
I never said crocs can turn their heads 360 degrees also in most of the lion vs croc youtube videos the lion lunges towards the croc trying to bite it but then the croc turns around and faces the lion with an open jaw ready to bite then the lion stops dead in its tracks also do you think a croc would stand still and let the lion/tiger kill it no my case of the “lion can´t get near enough to kill the croc without getting mauled” case is closed
“dude i do my research the fastest lionesses reach 50 mph males can barely run at 35 mph
also no tigers can run 50 mph that is ludicrous . google sites say a tigers speed is at maximum 40 mph still fast don´t get me wrong”
Jake, do some more than. Male lions are very much capable of reaching 50 mph. And search up “Siberian tiger speed” on google. Tigers of the Amur (aka Siberian) subspecies can easily reach 50 mph.
“ap

Jake, best you stop closing cases and do some more research… The reason lions turn around or avoid those confrontations is because they don’t want to risk injury – this is a hypothetical battle in which both animals are pressed to fight. And the croc won’t stand still – it will be helpless. A large crocodile is not agile enough to get a lion/tiger of it’s back.
male lions run at 35-40 mph that is fast but 50 mph only the fastest female lion can pull that off so what if the tiger can run 50 mph it even states it can only run that fast for short distances but this is not a race between a lion or croc this is a hypothetical fight and since when does travel speed matter in a fight its the striking speed and crocs are one of the fastest animals in terms of striking speed not travel speed I even said it before
“male lions run at 35-40 mph that is fast but 50 mph only the fastest female lion can pull that off so what if the tiger can run 50 mph it even states it can only run that fast for short distances but this is not a race between a lion or croc this is a hypothetical fight and since when does travel speed matter in a fight its the striking speed and crocs are one of the fastest animals in terms of striking speed not travel speed I even said it before”
Well, I a’int talking about average speed – I am talking about top speed – and yes, both male and female lions/tigers can reach ~50 mph. And as I said earlier, besides maybe wild dogs, no animal can run that fast for long distances. And how fast an animal initially takes off, does affect their striking speed. Big cats in general have better reflexes than reptiles – so they can easily dodge an attack.
dude the bigger the animal gets the slower it gets most of the time but anyways if you want to use top speed fine but this is a fight not a race its the striking speed not travel speed that matters here
And there is one more thing you forgot to consider: Stamina. While felines have a bad reputation of having poor stamina, crocs have it even worse. Crocs tend to build up lactic acid very quickly – as a result, on land, they can’t fight for long periods of time.
so do lions intact in the series called animal face off big cat expert dave salmon said lions have worse stamina than crocs so don´t get me started on that also I never even said crocs have good stamina
Oh no! Not Animal “Faceplant”! And Animal planet gave stamina to the lion – I don’t know what you are talking about.
hello dave salmon big cat including lions expert he says lions have worse stamina than crocs
even Smithsonian says lions have poor stamina I don´t get why people hate animal face-off its not death battle I get sometimes the fight sequences don´t make sense like a lion beating tiger or a lion standing still in a waterhole with a croc under the water
Alright dude, give me a link where David Salmoni says that. It is a well known fact that crocs have the worst stamina among animals.
Smithsonian says lions have poor stamina in the sense that they can’t run full speed for miles – but again, very few, if any, animals can do that.
People don’t rely on Animal Face off because that is not how animals fight in real life.
click the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HvU1xPZAXg
36:17 “so yeah I think you´re right a lion may get tired quicker”
also I was searching which animal had worst stamina and surprise surprise I almost always was cats including lion

it says lion running a few hundred meters makes them pant

Jake,
Your link was faulty…
go youtube type in animal face-off lion vs crocodile then click the one who’s has a lioness thumbnail then skip over to 36:16
There are videos of half grown lions shrugging off croc attacks.
See this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEG0OnF2PCYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEG0OnF2PCY
what does that have to do in this debate
If a half grown lion can shrug off a crocodile attack, imagine what an adult could do…
this is a vs debate not an oh the animal shrugged off an attack contest
Dude…
Try and comprehend what happened in that video…
The crocodile attempted to bite on the swimming lion – but the lion clawed it continously. Replace that sub-adult lion with a fully grown one, and that croc would be dead meat.
infact I say it with all the confidence I have the lions where just lucky
Nah..
I would say the croc was lucky that it was not an adult lion.
I would say the lions were lucky that the croc was not that hungry anyways
“a lion aint getting through a crocs armor”
Except, Machli, and old, small, and out of her prime tigress killed a mugger crocodile with a bite to the head. All crocs have equally tough skin – so if a small tigress could do that, a large male lion/tiger can do just the same.
not all crocs have just as thick skin look at a nile and saltwater crocodiles scales and the nile has bigger and thicker scales also gators have thicker skins than crocs. muggers have one of the weakest I’m not saying their armor is weak it is just not as thick as a nile crocs also lions have a hard time getting through a buffalo´s skin what makes you think it can do it to a lion also machli went for the back of the head of the mugger not its neck
First off, lions don not have trouble getting through buffalo’s skin – their canines are designed to penetrate the tough hide of large animals.
And the difference in how thick the skin is is not significant. And the croc was lucky that Machli went for the head, not the neck. If you study the croc’s anatomy, the back of their neck is fairly soft.
I said hard time not impossible also lions do have a hard time getting through a buffalos skin
also some crocs have thicker scales than other the nile croc is one of them also mugger crocs have armored scales on their necks too genius some like the salties don´t
Well if Mugger crocs have armored scales on their necks than you just proved my point about tigers having the teeth and claws to penetrate a croc’s skin LOL.
how machli went for the back of the head not the neck genius
I don’t man. Lets ask Machli!
Jokes aside, it was probably easier for her to that because she was small, out of her prime, tigress. A large male tiger could have gone for the back of the neck, easily.
And FYI: There have been cases in India where crocodiles will attempt to bite down on a swimming crocodile, but the tiger blinds the croc using it’s claws.
I don’t *know.
a paw to the head would just piss the croc off dude
she went for the back of the neck
Tigers have been documented breaking skulls of buffalo using paw strikes – I’m sure they could do the same thing to crocs.
a crocs skull is a solid hunk of bone and thick so they can withstand their massive bite force
a tiger won’t break a crocs snout
“a crocs skull is a solid hunk of bone and thick so they can withstand their massive bite force
a tiger won’t break a crocs snout”
So? A buffalo’s skull is also a “solid hunk of bone” – yet tiger’s break them about as easily as you would break a pretzel. Even a small tigress (of the Amur subspecies), can generate ~10,000 N (Newtons) of force with one paw swipe – it takes only 4000 N to break a bone…
crocs snout can survive the stress from the crocs bite force also even if that tiger broke crocs snout (which is highly unlikely) the croc can survive that and keep on fighting
A broken skull – the croc might be able to “countinue fighting”, but he will be at a major disadvantage.
a buffalo s head is not as dense as a crocs
also crocodile has another tool to fight with its tail
did you know a gators tail swipe can break an animals rib cage
like what is gonna happen to yo tiger
Sorry, I meant, a crocodile attempts to bite down on a swimming *tiger.
the tiger won´t see the croc coming and it would be to late by the tiger realizes
croc wins simple as that
Tigers are usually very alert of their surroundings – as predators, they have to be. If the croc catches the tiger via ambush, yes, it would win. But if the tiger notices the croc, the crocs dead meat.
crocs are one of the sneakiest animals out their they can move through the water without making a ripple the tiger simply won´t see the croc coming
even antelope who are one of the most alert animals out there can´t see a croc coming underwater
croc beats lion and tiger simple as that
Thats wrong Jake. Tigers and other predators are very well aware of ambushes.
Dude…
Antelopes are not more alert than tigers – prey animals are the least aware of anything.
ap
prey animals are more wary of predators cause they have to keep a sharp eye nose and ear cause in any moment they can be attacked by an animal that wants to eat them
Ah.. no. Prey animals are seldom aware of their surroundings – it is a misconception that they are always careful and aware.
ap
prey are the most alert cause in any moment in their lives they can be taken by a predator whilst predators most often don´t have to worry about anything other than their next meal or breeding
croc beats lion bear tiger the only predators that can kill a croc is another croc
“croc beats lion and tiger simple as that”
Except the facts prove otherwise.
“except the facts proves otherwise”
sorry bucko but you’re quote un quote facts I debunked them
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/8695915/Fifteen-foot-Bengali-crocodile-claims-king-of-the-jungle-title-from-tiger.html
L.O.L.. kid. Do you learn nothing? That is the very same article which has I said has the following problems:
1) Though it was an adult, the tiger was exceptionally small.
2) The croc ambushed the tiger – it was not a fair, face to face fight.
3) That same article clearly said that forest officials stated a crocodile killing a tiger was a rare sighting. In India, even the largest of crocodiles fall prey to tigers. In fact, tigers love eating crocodile meat.
1 were in the text does it say the tiger was small
2 tigers rarely prey on crocs in fact the only tiger attack on crocs I could find was machli
and the tiger attack on ranthambore they said
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com Croc-kills-tiger
or just go to google and type croc kills tiger after a long night duel
the lion will end up like the tiger if it is stupid enough to challenge the reptile that outlived the dinosaurs
1) It did not say in the article that the tiger was small, BUT, it said that the tiger was from the sundarbans – male tigers from that region hardly average 140 kg.
2) Tigers do prey on crocodiles – you can not find any videos on Youtube because it is hard to record fights in the dense jungles of India.
And naturally Jake, you failed to notice that in both of the articles you linked, forest officials said the following (exact words I am quoting from the article):
“…attacks from tigers on crocodiles were common – a crocodile was killed recently in Ranthambore tiger reserve. “However, this is the first time we have heard of an attack by crocodiles on a tiger.”
show me the link where it states the tigers in surdarban rarely reaches 140 kg for a male tiger to weigh that it would have to be extremely undernourished
did you see the last link I provided
http://i.imgur.com/Ctl2yRU.png
In the data table, look in “The Sundarbans” row. Turns out the average for male tigers is ~114 kg, not even 140 kg. On the contrary, in the exact same data table, you can see that male tigers from other regions of India average well over 220 kg.
look at my other link and don´t come crying “its edited” or “its fake” crap
Best you stop “crying” Jake, and learn to accept the reality…
what reality the one you and your tiny little microscopic brain lives in
Jeeze “bucko”…
You are developing into a troll now…
Best you start examining the facts…
hey bucko how am I trolling now
but you gotta admit the “what reality like the one you and you re microscopic brain lives in”
that was savage
See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qVujfPu1dA

Come on now Jake. Can you not tell the difference between actual wildlife footage, and a fake, edited video clip? In the last scene, the croc did not even kill the tiger! The tiger walked away.
Likewise, I suggest you check out some real life footage:

Notice how the tiger, despite being much smaller, manages to control the crocodile, and kill it with a bite to the head/neck region.
A Nile/Saltie would suffer the exact same fate at the paws of a prime territory boss male tiger.
” come on Jake. can you not tell the difference between actual wildlife footage, and fake, edited video clip? last scene, the croc did not even kill the tiger! The tiger walked away.
it is authentic whether u like it or not I saw ur post on machli killing a 14 ft croc and I did not argue it was edited.
00:22 ITS FROM THE 70s OR SOMETHING AND I DID NOT EVEN SAY IN THE FREAKING VIDEO A FOOTAGE OF CROC KILL TIGER BUT It shows 1 a croc noticing a tiger trying to stalk it which proves croc is more aware of its surroundings than a tiger 2 a croc overpowers a tiger on land. 3 a picture of a crocodile on a riverbank with a dead tiger next to it
no photoshop cgi or anything its authentic guess you cat people can´t just except the facts
The fact that you can not distinguish between real wildlife footage and fake, edited clips, is really lowering your credibility. Even in the comments under the video you linked, everyone was saying the exact same thing.
And yes, before I saw the video, you claimed that the croc killed the tiger, but now you are twisting your own words.
Best you croc people stop “crying” and learn to accept the fact that big cats > crocs/alligators.
dude it is authentic just forget the comment section cause they are just butthurt cat people
Jake..
Sure, I guess 99% of the comment section must be “butthurt cat people”? LOL.
Even if we are to assume that your video is “authentic” it proves nothing about a croc being able to kill a tiger…
did you even see the picture there was a big croc with a dead tiger next to him or her
salties/niles will rip yo so called “prime territory boss male tiger” in the same way
a croc did to this tigress
in the link I provided
called croc kills tiger after a long night duel
So… still believing crap, huh?
Of course, you conveniently ignored the following quotation (the one which I already posted earlier in this thread) which came from your own article:
“…attacks from tigers on crocodiles were common – a crocodile was killed recently in Ranthambore tiger reserve. “However, this is the first time we have heard of an attack by crocodiles on a tiger.”
The only hope your beloved niles/salties would have is a well timed ambush…
Once the boss tiger decides to get his 4 inch dagger like canines and meat hook slicers on the crocs, they a’int gonna have a good time…
And I noticed that you did not respond to the link I posted of male tigers from the Sundarbans averaging <140 kg…
ap my link is authentic despite your claims that It was edited despite what my links video comment section says also I did not claim a croc killed a tiger in the video that is just the title
of the video
best you cat people get off of your high horses and accept crocs/gators >>>> big cats their is a reason why crocs survived for 85 million years
hope your tiger runs away before the nile or saltie wants to eat him
Look kid,
If you can’t tell the difference between fantasy and reality, than I am afraid there is no cure for that…
Big cats are more recent development, thus making them superior to crocs in todays day and age…
Best you get off your “horse”, and learn to accept the reality…
“hope your tiger runs away before the nile or saltie wants to eat him”
Those scaly creeps will wisely back down in confrontations, because they know the facts, unlike you…
And if they choose to fight the boss tiger, they will face the consequences of doing so…
what reality ap the one you and your cat fantasies live in
crocs have seen animals more “advanced” then them come and go and it might be the same with humanity and definitely you cats
the tiger would be “smart not messing with these dinosaur killers from the past or suffer hell seriously crocs used to eat dinosaurs
How do you not get it?
Big cats are a more recent development – so they are superior to crocs today…
It is like comparing the first iphone made in 2007 to iphone X max…
So now dinasours are on the menu for crocs?
Whats next? The Megaladon shark? LOL.
jeeze bucko you take what I said out of context
I said when crocs and dinosaurs still co-existed crocs ate dinosaurs
if you don´t belive me search deinosuchus and sarcosuchus and kaprosuchus
seriously dude I’m not crazy like James w megalodon vs crocodile who do you think would win megalodon
its you who don´t get it crocs have seen a huge list of extinct species come and go
take Australia for example crocs co existed with a giant lizard the same size as them aka megalania and now the giant ripper is gone but crocs are still around
Why… you … don’t… understand???
That is exactly why big cats are superior to crocs today…
you are the one who “don´t understand” crocs are far far superior to cats
that is why I don´t like cat people
it seemed pretty authentic to me now you are just acting like James w
that video you provided that is the very same video of machli
00:20
IT WAS PROPABLY FROM THE 70S OR SOMETHING WERE THE CAMERAS WERE ONLY IN BLACK AND WHITE
no amount of photoshop or cgi or anything can make something like that
the video I provided was authentic whether you like it or not
also when I said “crocodile kills tiger” that was just the title of the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvhNGbjouUY
You see, a group of crocodiles decided to steal the boss tigers kill. But when badass stripes returned to take what was rightfully his, the crocs could not stop him – and this all took place in water.
the crocs did not even try also the narrator states the tiger waited for nine ours that is more than enough time for the crocs to get good bites on the carcass in fact the narrator states the crocs had given up on the sambar hence why they did not attack the tiger when it was in the water
Do you even know how tigers operate? I guess not…
Tigers are smart (the smartest of all big cats – and certainly smarter than your beloved crocs). Unlike other animals, they don’t blindly charge into battle. They stop, think, and plan, on how to execute their master game…
The crocs knew the tiger was watching them, and were intimated. Once the boss tiger went to retrieve what was rightfully his, the crocs did not want to risk any injury by attacking the big kitty…
do you know how smart crocs are ( smartest of all reptiles – and way smarter than yo tiger)
mugger crocodiles have even learned a new trick to catch birds that not even a tiger could learn in 10 years. they swim under sticks underwater then birds fly down to grab the sticks then the croc grabs
the bird easy and smart way to catch birds
crocs use tools while yo tiger can´t
the narrator in you link says the crocs don´t even want the carcass anymore so no they were not scared of your giant cat with stripes
“do you know how smart crocs are ( smartest of all reptiles – and way smarter than yo tiger)”
In fantasy world, I guess, not in reality though…
“mugger crocodiles have even learned a new trick to catch birds that not even a tiger could learn in 10 years. they swim under sticks underwater then birds fly down to grab the sticks then the croc grabs
the bird easy and smart way to catch birds
crocs use tools while yo tiger can´t”
L.O.L… You know nothing about tigers, do you? Tigers have been known to imitate the call of other animals like deers, in order to attract prey. This is something your beloved croc could not learn in “10 years”. There is nothing special about your mugger croc – they are just camaflouging themselves, nothing else – even tigers use their majestic orange coat and black stripes to hide in tall grasses and ambush prey – so what?
That “giant cat with stripes” would have expertly and brutally murdered those overgrown lizards if they tried to steal his kill again…
why do crocs even need to imitate animals to catch them intact I doubt in 20 years a tiger can learn to use tools or did you ignorantly not read my comment a mugger croc can use sticks to lure birds near it then seize them more impressive than imitating animals
what part of the narrator said the crocs don´t even want the sambar anymore do you not understand if the crocs wanted to the giant cat with stripes would not make it to shore
“why do crocs even need to imitate animals to catch them intact I doubt in 20 years a tiger can learn to use tools or did you ignorantly not read my comment a mugger croc can use sticks to lure birds near it then seize them more impressive than imitating animals”
Imitating animals would help the croc hunt them.
Looks like you did not understand what I said, did you? They use the sticks to help themselves camaflouge…
dude try to read my comment without going crazy
a mugger croc swims under twigs the bird would swoop down to get the twigs then the croc catches the bird
what is more impressive using tools or imitating a deer
I am not going “crazy” lmao. Both are impressive, but imitating a deer’s call is more impressive because very few animals can do that. On the flip side, gorillas, bears, chimps, and even hyenas can use tools.
And as far as lion and crocodile interactions go, see this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbm-P7jaa_c
A crocodile decided to steal the lionesses kill. Once the alpha male lion came, they slowly backed down and retreated into the water.
you are aware of how small the crocs were right
I did not measure the croc, neither did you… but the boss lion backed him off anyway…
How can you say with certainty they were small? Half the croc’s body was in the water…
Plus, even if the crocs were small, there were a number of them surrounding the lion. They could have all attacked at the same time – but they did not – because they were aware of the consequences…
how Can I say the croc was small look at the head size the crocs head was barely bigger than the lions
if the croc was 14 its head should be double the lions head size
Well… even big crocs don’t have a larger head than a lion – they have a LONGER head…
Plus, they were in a group – and they are territorial animals – so they might attack if they are not hungry – but they did not …
crocs head is not only longer but its also heavier therefore its bigger
I think you should do some “research”
And FYI: A lioness managed to open a car’s door on a safari. Tigers are as smart (if not smarter) as lions…
also crocs don´t have to attack if they ain´t hungry anyways
I am not going “crazy” lmao. Both are impressive, but imitating a deer’s call is more impressive because very few animals can do that. On the flip side, gorillas, bears, chimps, and even hyenas can use tools.
yes imitating a deer is impressively smart but have cats ever learned to use tools like mugger crocs
Yeah…
You know that big cats can also do those things to, right?
so what they don´t know how to use tools
See the last link I posted – on the bottom of this thread
Jeeze kid…
Even Jaguars, who are 1/3 the size of tigers, will regularily hunt caimen – now, don’t give me that “crap” that caimens are small. The largest caimens, black caimens, can easily reach lengths of ~20 feet – the same as Niles/Salties…
ap
now you are really trying
FYI jaguars only hunt spectacled or yacare caimans who s maximum size is 10 feet and 380 pounds
a black caimans maximum size is the same as a mugger croc 16 feet and over 900 pounds
a black caiman would make a meal out of a jaguar dude
Ha! And that is doubtless why there are so many documented cases of jaguars killing black caimen…L.O.L…
also if the jaguar was the same size as a tiger the jaguar would kill your beloved tiger
Yeah dude…
That is totally why experts favor a 300 lb Sumatran tiger over a 300 lb Pantanal jaguar…L.O.L…
jaguars have 2000 pound bite force that is nearly as strong as an alligators and stronger than a hippos so yes a 300 pound jaguar beats a 300 pound tiger also a jaguars claws are longer than a lion imagine if the jaguar was the same size as the lion but still retained its body porportions
2000 PSI? A jaguar? Whaa?
Seems like you are relying on those crappy websites which provide no references for their claims.
Try some scientific studies instead, eh kid:
/Users/Nananadu/Desktop/main-qimg-061b8df0ab2c14ab4d5987694e07fbaa-c.jpeg
Bite force at the canines:
Tiger (Panthera tigris): 2164.7 N
Lion (Panthera leo) : 2023.7 N
Jaguar (Panthera onca): 1361.2 N
what ever but you claim that a black caiman is the same size as a nile or saltie
A jaguar’s claws are longer than a lions?? Jeeze kid… now you are really grasping at the straws…
go to google and type in big cat claws
you say I grasp the straws you claimed a black caiman is 20 ft
Like wise, I suggest you search up “black caimen length” on google.
It says, black caimens can EXCEED 16 feet…
some rarely get bigger than 16 feet my point was you said a black caiman is the same size as a nile or saltwater croc
I said, they CAN BE the same size…
dude they can’t be the same size like I said a black caimans biggest size is 16 ft yes they can exceed that but they will only be the same size as a nile or saltie if they are both 16 feet but the nile and saltwater crocs size is 20 ft or more
Can you read? It says they can EXCEED 16 ft, so it is entirely predictable that some caimens are 20 ft. Just google it dude.
no they can´t reach 20 ft its states few caiman males exceed 16 ft or weigh heavier than 900 lbs
dude these is like when we argued the size of sardarbans tiger size the black caiman rarely grows to 16 feet and 900 pounds so what makes you think they can grow to 20 ft
also I never said 16 feet is the black caimans size limit I said few rarely exceeds it
so its very unlikely they could reach 20 ft
It is unlikely, but they can reach those sizes – thats my point.
And 16 feet is huge also – it is close to a nile/salties length.
16 feet is close to nile/salties length yes only 4 feet shorter
but look at the weight a 16 ft salties weighs over 1400 lbs while black caiman at 16ft weighs 900 pounds
okay you proved your point I just mistaken it for you meaning a black caiman is the same size as a nile or saltie
You do understand that the increase in weight is a disadvantage against a big cat, right?
Heavier crocs lack the mobility and agility to shrug off a big cat – they are too slow, heavy, and sluggish.
https://www.youtube.com7watch?v=4-zhqRLNmRM
00:33
even big crocs with short legs can run with their bellies partially of the ground but again this is a fight not a race all the croc would need to do is turn around sideways and gave his jaws face the lion and the lion ain´t getting through the crocs defenses and even if a get gets on top of the croc the croc could just roll over and crush the cat with its sheer weight
And FYI: A lioness managed to open a car’s door on a safari. Tigers are as smart (if not smarter) as lions…
again it was just convenience the lioness just instinctively pulled on the door handel then it opened
it s more to show how dumb people are these days
Indeed, people are very dumb nowadays. See that video where people are watching a lion from their cars with the windows open – the lion roars angrily.
And yes, cats can use tools:
https://g.redditmedia.com/UOO3KOKe_pNu0d2R79YA_YCttvFvF-ePRGFV9w0Njfs.gif?fm=mp4&mp4-fragmented=false&s=89063560529739cf709889c7723d7374
sure yes cats can use tools but we are talking about the lion not domestic cat
You know that house cats and big cats share 95% of DNA, right?
you do no that does not make your argument any valid cause take humans and gorillas for example we humans share 95% of our dna with gorillas but the gorilla will never come even close to our intelligence
Jake,
That is a very poor analogy. Humans and gorillas do NOT think and act in the same manner.
Domestic cats, on the other hand, have the same predatory instincts and intellect as big cats. It is well known that if they were the size of large dogs, like Bull Mastiffs or Rottweillers, they would prey on us.
Since their predatory instincts are as good as big cats, it is entirely predictable that their intellect is about the same to, more or less.
dude
house cats see what we humans do everyday including flushing toilets so I’m not
surprised lions and crocs are wild animals
your argument is still not valid just because cat shares 95% of its dna to big cats doesn’t mean big cats can do everything a cat can like flushing toilets or anything else
In case you did not know, wild animals are always more intelligent than domestic ones.
For example, dogs are considered to be extremely smart – yet they are outclassed by wolves when it comes to intelligence.
Similarly, big cats are much smarter than domestic ones.
And one more thing Jake,
Contrary to popular belief, despite living solitary lives, tigers are amazing at working together in groups. There have been many cases where tigers in captivity have worked together in order to escape to the wild. That is far more impressive than using sticks to lure a bird into water.
a lion/tiger would still not know how to flush a toilet
crocs can also work together when a hippo dies crocs from all stretches of the river come and help each other get a piece of meat and they don´t fight and you said crocs have “peony” brains guess you have the “peony” brains
Goodnight Finn…
L.O.L…
And cats have been known to flush toilets also, just saying…
I doubt crocs possess the intellect to do that…
domestic cats see what we humans do every day but lions and crocs are wild animals
Like I said earlier, house cats and big cats share 95% DNA.
my point is domesticated cats see what we humans do every day so I’m not surprised
also for the house cats and big cats share 95% DNA its invalid cause take humans and chimpanzees for example your argument is like saying a human shares 95% of our dna with gorillas but will gorillas ever come even close to human intellect no
Check out the reply I made to you earlier in this thread.
the croc is the clear winner
You spelled lion/tiger wrong.
you spelled lion/tiger would be done for
I see you are spending too much time with Finn, eh kid… L.O.L…
Damn kid,
Yo’ is one “sick puppy”. Yo’ had anul sex with Patrick, Cosmo, AND Finn????
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
“buffalo s head is not as dense as a crocs
also crocodile has another tool to fight with its tail
did you know a gators tail swipe can break an animals rib cage
like what is gonna happen to yo tiger”
Wrong kid, the croc will never get a chance to do that.
Plus tigers are so powerful that even multiple shots from a sniper can’t kill them – their legs are so strong that they can remain standing and die – even elephants can’t do that.
Your croc’s tail a’int gonna do shit.
dude tigers cannot stand up and die also tigers can be one shot by a bullet
that proves my point you are trolling
“wrong kid, the croc will ne ver get the chance to do that”
like yo beloved tiger won´t survive 2 seconds without turning into a pile of bones and fur
Jake/troll,
Looks like you are spending too much time with your buddy Finn down in Adventure Time, eh kid?
You know absolutely nothing about tigers. You are poorly informed, and have no in depth learning.
See this link: http://slightlyviral.com/amazing-facts-about-tigers/
Read the first fact – and admit you are wrong.
show me the evidence of that fact not just the statement
also I don´t watch adventure time
Finn/Troll,
Damn kid – the evidence is in front of you, but you won’t accept it…L.O.L..
so give me a video that shows that the tiger can stand on its hind legs and die
also like you tried saying that the link I showed you of crocs destroying tigers is fake L.O.L
Finn/Troll/Punk/Stupid boy,
You just prove my point… he he he… L.O.L..
patrick
you proved my point that you need a neurologist
Finn/Spongeblob,
Neurologist? You better get one ASAP…. L.O.L…
hey Patrick/cosmo/ed
what is 1+1
3
no
thats stupid.
your stupid.
stop being stupid
oh wait not even that can cure your mental disability why do you have a blind faith to ugly cats with a wig on its neck and a big one with stripes
Finn/Troll/Gary/Patrick/etc.,
Why yo’ has a fetish for them scaly creeps? L.O.L..
“hey bucko how am I trolling now
but you gotta admit the “what reality like the one you and you re microscopic brain lives in”
that was savage”
Kid,
Whats even more “savage” is when the tiger sinks its dagger like canines through the crocs peony brain, drags it home, and thanks the river for such a tasty meal.
want to know what is more savage is when the croc grabs the lion/tiger by the neck and decapitates them with a flick of its neck
also crocs are smarter than yo giant cat with stripes
“want to know what is more savage is when the croc grabs the lion/tiger by the neck and decapitates them with a flick of its neck”
“also crocs are smarter than yo giant cat with stripes”
And then you woke up.
“and then you woke up”
and you are still in asleep for eternity and not willing to accept that crocs > big cats
Finn,
It is the other way around…
for the last time punk I don´t watch adventure time
also have you ever had any cells in your brain that are not dead
Finn,
I know you have dead brain cells – no need to tell me. L.O.L…
hey punk do you want to know what is not bigger than that big head of yours
Finn,
Don’t describe yourself – we do that when you are gone… L.O.L…
yo tiny little brain
Finn,
Them salties recently developed a taste for human brains – but don’t worry, you are safe… L.O.L…
hey ap aka Patrick star
a zombie apocalypse is happening don´t worry you and yo mama are safe
Finn/Troll/Patrick/Gary/Spongeblob,
What is that digustin’ exudate drippin’ from yo’ nose all the way down yo’ chin? L.O.L..

Finn/Troll/etc.,
Damn kid… them salties sez theyz gonna rape yo’ mom and leave her stinkin’ corpse on you sonny boy…L.O.L.
them tigers raped you girlfriend last night oh wait you don´t have one
how sad
Yo’ is cheatin’ on yo’ salty GF? Damn kid – how many salties have yo’ impregnanated? L.O.L…
hey vegeta what is his fetish for cats leve
its over 9000
seriously how many cats have fucked
Hey Jake,
Here is a fun fact for you: Saltwater crocs don’t just live in Australia – they occaissonally come to Eastern India to – and guess what? They are preyed upon by tigers!
hey bucko want to know what is more funny
salties and bengal tigers don´t co exist and even if they did the tiger would be the one “preyed” upon
Jake/Finn/Troll,
https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmXoypizjW3WknFiJnKLwHCnL72vedxjQkDDP1mXWo6uco/wiki/Crocodiles_in_India.html
It says, “Saltwater crocodiles are found on the eastern coast of the country and the Nicobar and Andaman Islands.[1]”
AP/PUNK
for the last time I don´t watch adventure time and I never said saltwater crocs don´t live in India I just meant they don´t co exist with tigers
patrick
salties and tigers don´t co exist look at their habitual ranges
Finn/Patrick/Gary/Spongeblob,
You salty bruh? L.O.L…
like you always look at historical ranges look at the current ranges and you se salties and your beloved tiger don´t co-exist
Finn/Troll/Punk,
Damn kid – I see you find it difficult to let go of that “stupid boy” persona…
Tigers are widespread throughout India, genius – and that includes the eastern side of the country. Them salties better watch out for the big kitty, eh kid… L.O.L..
PUNK/IGNORANT/IMBECILE
I think you should just go argue somewhere else
tigers and saltwater croc s don´t co-exist how many times do I have to say it
even if they did the crocs would decline their already decreasing numbers further
Finn/Troll/Punk/Ignorant/Imbecile,
Damn kid – you have reached the arse end of stupidity, haven’ t you… L.O.L..
hey ap yo mama so stupid she gave you her stupidity
Finn/Troll,
Still the stupid boy, huh? L.O.L…
like you eh ostrich
Damn bucko,
Yo’ is one “sick puppy” boy… Yo’ raped five salties, yo’ raped yo’ momma, yo’ raped Finn, now yo’ is rapin’ an Ostrich? L.O.L..

geez kid
lolololololololololololololololololololololololol
Oh no kid..
Yo’ isn’t no sick puppy. Yo’ is them slum dog rapists!

Ewwww… Yo’ watch lion & tiger porn… Boy, yo’ is one sick puppy… blaaaaaaaaaahhhhh….
Seems like that was one of the few things, the good ol’ troll, James W., got correct, no? L.O.L…
hey punk guess what you are the new James w
hey Patrick
who cares what animal the world likes more also a lions mane is not beautiful its stupid looking
dude lets throw a lion in a cage to fight a green anaconda and lets throw a leopard to fight a Komodo dragon lets throw yo beloved tiger up against the big bad saltwater croc. what will happen? the reptiles will destroy the cats
you go cry like the asshole you are
guess you are the knew James w
jaguars prey on small anacondas lets see what happens when it tangles with a 25 ft 500lbs serpent
answer: the jaguar is done for
a komodo dragon weighs twice as much as the leopard and it has a venomous bite that would make the leopard bleed till its dead
a saltie would devour a tiger and how did you school me on what being stupid
mr. can´t even use common sense is mad
yo do your research
a 25 ft 500lbs anaconda would devour your lion and jaguar
a 360 pound Komodo dragon is not obese that is like saying a 600 pound Bengal tiger is obese also your leopard would be lucky if he ever reaches 200 pounds. and what part of tough armored skin don´t you understand a Komodo dragons scales are nearly as though as a crocodiles
2000 pound water dragon vs 700 pound cat with stripes the winner is obvious
Jake,
First off, 500+ lbs anacondas are rare – this is not Hollywood.
Most large anacondas are closer to 300 lbs – the same as a jaguar.
Secondly, a 500+ lb anaconda would not be fast enough to constrict the jaguar/lion – and even if it did get its coils around the them – the cats would just tear them apart using their teeth and claws.
Fine, there might be some 360 lb Komodo dragons – but they are rare. Worst case, it would just be a draw. Even a wild and healthy 360 lb komodo dragon would be slower than a 170 – 200 lb one – and FYI: a desperate leopard can penetrate through the dragon’s hide if it really wants to.
And I addressed tiger vs croc in another reply.
ap
when an anaconda constricts the jaguar/lion they ain´t escaping unless they are very lucky
yes 500lbs snakes are rare but my point was Jaguar can take down small-medium sized anacondas but a 25ft one I have to disagree
ap
i am not crazy I know a 360lbs dragon is a rarity but so is the 200lbs leopard
also has the leopard ever bitten through hide nearly as strong as a crocodile
no also Komodo dragons on average are mostly the same size as a leopard
but their biggest the dragon is nearly twice the leopards weight
“when an anaconda constricts the jaguar/lion they ain´t escaping unless they are very lucky”
Believe it or not, huge anacondas have constricted jaguars before – but the jaguar managed to escape and even kill the snake. There is a reason why the jaguar – not the anaconda, was given the title “Apex predator” of the Amazon rainforests.
“yes 500lbs snakes are rare but my point was Jaguar can take down small-medium sized anacondas but a 25ft one I have to disagree”
You might change your mind when you learn that a leopard managed to kill a 25 foot rock python with a bite to the head…
“i am not crazy I know a 360lbs dragon is a rarity but so is the 200lbs leopard”
Its just that you are far more likely to find a 200 lbs leopard than a 360 lbs komodo dragon.
“also has the leopard ever bitten through hide nearly as strong as a crocodile”
Yes. There is a video on Youtube of a leopard killing a small crocodile.
“no also Komodo dragons on average are mostly the same size as a leopard
but their biggest the dragon is nearly twice the leopards weight”
Well, I guess you could say that the largest komodo dragons are twice the average leopard’s weight? But I doubt that the largest komodo dragons are twice the largest leopard’s weight.
ap
okay the lion/jaguar beats the anaconda
ap the leopard went for the back of the head of the croc but surprise the Komodo even has armor on his or her head
also 360lbs is the biggest Komodo dragon ever weighed
200 lbs is the heviest leopard the Komodo is off by 40 pounds hence why I said
the biggest dragon is nearly twice the biggest leopards size
the Komodo is the winner here
Jake,
You are saying that komodo dragon’s have a harder head than crocs?
Here is my take on komodo dragon vs leopard:
If the leopard is bigger, it will win.
If they are the same weight, it could go either way.
If the komodo dragon is significantly heavier, than it will win.
Believe it or not Jake,
There are some leopards in the wild which weighed ~250 lbs.
AP
no I’m not saying Komodo dragons have harder heads than crocs my point was the back of a crocs head is not as thick as the crocs snout
Finn/Punk,
James W sez, “Yo’ must have been born on a highway, ’cause thats where all the accidents happen!”…L.O.L..
I live in a civilized and intelligent community while you live in stupidityville ………L.O.L..
“I live in a civilized and intelligent community”
And that is doubtless why you and yo’ five slum dog rapist buddies raped yo’ momma and five salties.. L.O.L..
like how you raped your mom cats lions jaguars and 5 tigers
Nope.
yes
yo are a horny pervert confirmed either we keep this in a mature manner or we just argue like little kids I’m in the mature side also sorry that I called you all those mean things sorry
now I’m waiting for your apology
Jake,
Alright dude, since you were man enough to apologize – I’ll do the same.
I’m sorry for saying those mean things to – when I’m angry, I sometimes cross the line.
Lets give this debate a fresh start. You start off by explaining why you believe the croc would win against a lion/tiger.
I think because the croc is bigger heavier is armored been around as a species longer and has stronger jaws I simply think a croc under 15 ft would lose to a tiger/lion but 16+ would win mostly in the water but 5/5 on land
you keep what you thin I keep what I think and I think a cat would beat my overgrown lizard on land but in the water the overgrown lizard beats the cat
Here is my take on it:
Size/Strength:
The croc is much heavier, but it lacks the mobility, agility, speed, and reflexes to make use of it – crocs are faster than they are given for, but still slower than a big cat.
Bite force:
The croc has heavier pressure jaws – but they can’t kill with a swift bite – they need to do the death role. Tigers have the canines to penetrate through the tough hide of animals and kill with a single bite.
On land, it could go either way, but I would give the edge to the tiger.
In water, it could go either way, but I would give the edge to the croc.
But again, I respect your opinion and I believe that we should not let our bias and favoritism get in the way of the scientific facts.
Cheers dude.
agility
sure the croc is not as agile as the tiger
but that is not really a factor given the croc has thick armored scales that can protect the crocs vital organs from even another crocs jaws
bite force
the crocs jaws can bite down with 5000-7700lbs of pressure while you tiger has 1050 lbs of bit e force
in the water: 9,9/10 to the croc
on land: 5,001/10 to the croc
True – but the tiger always has the option of attacking the back of the neck (which is soft) and going for a skull bite.
And like I said – the croc has heavier pressure jaws, but they can’t kill with a single bite – they need to do a death roll. The tiger’s jaws don’t produce as much pressure, but they are designed to kill with a single bite.
ap
you do make a valid point
but the tiger would need an ambush cuz how will the agility help when the
croc is constantly turning around facing the tiger.
also a crocs skull is so dense it could survive a bite from another croc
Jake,
“but the tiger would need an ambush cuz how will the agility help when the
croc is constantly turning around facing the tiger.”
Again, this is what I have been trying to explain all along. Take the Machli vs 14 foot Mugger croc fight. Notice how the croc would turn around and constantly face Machli. Ask yourself, why was the croc able to do that? Because the croc was not very heavy. A ~1 ton nile/saltie does not have the neck mobility to keep turning around and facing the tiger – the croc will try to do this, but it will tire out and build lactic acid. This in turn, will allow the tiger to pick up the advantage, and go for the killer blow.
“also a crocs skull is so dense it could survive a bite from another croc”
The reason why crocs can survive bites from other crocs is because, like I explained earlier, their jaws are not meant to maim with a single bite.
Thanks for agreeing on jaguar vs anaconda 🙂
Jake,
While we do have different opinions on who would emerge victorious, keep in mind that these types of fights usually depend upon the individual animals.
Sometime a tiger might kill a croc in water, sometimes the croc might kill a tiger on land.
Sometimes an anaconda will kill a jaguar, and vice versa.
you are wrong AF , a crocodile can swiftly bite and crush through, bone vital organs , and the skull very quickly , the croc could kill a tiger in less than a second. ill give you a common sense lesson, imagine a small car with razor sharp spikes was dropped on a tiger. are you sure a tiger would survive that? that’s right a crocodile’s bite is equivalent to that. sorry that is real bullshit. crocodile could literally bite a tiger clean in half. a tiger could kill a crocodile if it did hit and runs for around 5 hours straight without being crushed by the jaws of death (the crocs jaws). all mammals have weak bite forces and when i mean weak i mean WEAK AS F**K . a tiger cant just randomly kill a crocodile . crocodile has tough skin and a tiger would not be able to reach the braincase, it would be chomped before it even got close.
sorry that I was an asshole
Apology accepted 🙂
I apologize for being an asshole to.
I think the croc would pulverize the lion
just kidding
wow guess its
gotten a little more
civilized now
my true opinion
is the lion overall wins
The distributional boundaries between these species were poorly understood, but following several studies, they are now better known. West African crocodiles are found throughout much of West and Central Africa, ranging east to South Sudan and Uganda where the species may come into contact with the Nile crocodile. Nile crocodiles are absent from most of West and Central Africa, but range into the latter region in eastern and southern Democratic Republic of Congo, and along the Central African coastal Atlantic region (as far north to Cameroon).
Hi guys I am new and 11 years old .My real name is albert. Thanks for being polite and all. I would say in a fight to death it would be the crocodile in water and lion on land.
Yes, lions/tigers are capable of killing crocodiles, but not likely. I’m a scientific research diver who specifically works on shark and crocodilian research. Where I live down in South Florida we have American Alligators and American crocodiles. Florida panthers are always wary of them, because they are hunted by them. In Africa, yes a Lion could kill a Nile croc, but its very unlikely and it would need its pride to help. Nile crocodiles weigh up to 2,000 pounds and grow up to 20 feet long, as lions are much smaller. If a crocodile came out of the water and grabbed a lions leg and bit down, it would break every bone in its leg. Then the crocodile would start to drag the lion into the water, a croc is much stronger so a lion couldn’t escape, without getting its entire leg ripped off. Once in the water the croc would drown and crush the lion at the same time, by performing a maneuver called the death roll. Once the lion is dead, it will rip the Lion apart and swallow it whole.
Yeah, predators are smart and will avoid unnecessary conflict.
Why risk injury after all?
In a fight to the death, the lion holds the winning cards on land,
as it can outmaneuver the crocodile and eventually land a killer blow.
It could also tire the crocodile out, as reptiles are notorious for their
propensity to build high amounts of lactic acid in their blood.
A big male lion certainly possesses the physical power to restrain
the crocodile and either deliver a fatal bite to the skull or neck, or
chew through the croc’s body cavity.
The croc holds the winning cards in water, of course.
